About Us
The Press
Pomegranate Press was born from a refusal to choose: between funny and serious, between levity and grief, between the absurd and the essential.
We are a small, independent publishing house, and our catalog reflects the actual texture of being alive. Some of our books will make you laugh so hard you have to put them down. Others will sit with you for months after you've finished — quiet, weighty, transforming.
We think this range isn't a contradiction. Comedy requires precision and intelligence. Poetry about war requires courage and love. Both demand craft. Both deserve your full attention. We publish books that know this.
The name? A pomegranate holds hundreds of seeds inside a single fruit — sweet and tart, beautiful and a little chaotic. Crack one open and you make a mess. We think that's a fair description of the best literature, and of the full range of human experience it tries to capture.
We believe in beautiful objects, sharp editing, and authors who don't pull their punches. Whether a book makes you laugh or breaks your heart — or does both — we want it to feel necessary.
